Image Cropper
Crop any image right in your browser – drag a rectangle over the photo, lock it to a popular aspect ratio, and download the cropped result as a PNG. Everything happens locally on your device; nothing is uploaded to Utilzivo.
How to Use the Image Cropper
- Choose an image file (JPG, PNG, WebP, and most other formats work).
- Pick an aspect ratio, or keep “Free” to draw any rectangle.
- Click or tap and drag across the image to draw your crop area. With a locked ratio, the rectangle keeps its shape as you drag.
- Press Crop Image to see a preview, then download the PNG.
- To adjust, just drag a new rectangle and crop again – no need to reload the image.
Practical example
You took a great group photo but there is a stranger at the edge, and you need a square version for a profile picture. Choose the photo, select the 1:1 square ratio, drag a square over the group (leaving the stranger out), and press Crop Image. You get a clean square PNG at full resolution, ready to upload.
Key features and benefits
- Drag-to-select: draw the crop area directly on the image with your mouse or finger.
- Aspect presets: square, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, and 9:16 cover profile pictures, prints, videos, and stories.
- Full-resolution output: the crop is cut from the original pixels, not the small preview.
- Local processing: your photos never leave your device.
- Instant re-crop: redraw and crop again as many times as you like.
Limitations
The selection rectangle cannot be smaller than 10×10 pixels. Rotating the image before cropping is not supported – rotate it first with a photo editor if needed. Cropping cannot add detail: cutting a small area from a low-resolution photo gives a small, soft result. Animated GIFs crop only their first frame.
Frequently asked questions
- Does cropping reduce image quality? The cropped area keeps its original pixels, so there is no quality loss from the crop itself. A very small crop from a low-resolution photo will simply be small.
- Can I crop a circle? The tool crops rectangles only. For a circular profile picture, crop a square here first, then use a round-mask editor.
- Which formats can I upload? JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, and anything else your browser can display as an image.
