QR Code Generator
Create a QR code for a URL or text directly in your browser and download it as an image.
How to create a QR code
Enter a website address or text, generate the QR code, then download the PNG image for printing or sharing.
When a QR code is useful
QR codes can bridge printed material and digital information. Common uses include putting a website link on a flyer, sharing Wi-Fi instructions as text, adding contact information to printed material, or giving customers a quick way to open a menu or form. For URLs, keep the destination short and stable where possible.
How to get a reliable scan
After generating the code, test it with more than one phone before printing. Keep a clear white margin around the code, avoid stretching the image, and use enough physical size for the expected scanning distance. A QR code can encode the information correctly but still be difficult to scan if it is printed too small or with poor contrast.
Static QR codes and limitations
This generator creates a static QR code: the text or URL is encoded directly in the image. If a website address changes later, the existing code does not update automatically; create a new code instead. This tool does not provide scan analytics, editable destinations, expiry controls, or hosted redirect links.
Privacy
The QR code is generated locally in your browser. Utilzivo does not need to store the text you enter for this tool.
Frequently asked questions
Do QR codes expire?
The QR image itself has no built-in expiry. A URL QR code stops being useful if the destination page is removed or its address changes.
Can I use plain text instead of a URL?
Yes. This general QR generator can encode ordinary text as well as website addresses.
Why should I test before printing?
Print size, contrast, surrounding space and the condition of the printed surface can affect scanning even when the encoded data is correct.
Can I edit the destination after downloading?
No. Because this is a static QR code, changing the destination requires generating a new image.
