SIP Calculator
SIP Calculator
Calculate the future value of your Systematic Investment Plan (SIP). Enter your monthly investment, expected annual return and time period to see your invested amount, estimated gains and total maturity value.
Projections assume monthly compounding at a constant rate. Mutual fund returns are market-linked and not guaranteed.
How to use the SIP calculator
- Enter your monthly SIP amount (e.g. ₹10,000).
- Enter the expected annual return — equity SIPs historically average 10–14% over long periods.
- Enter the time period in years and click Calculate.
SIP formula
Future value = P × [((1 + i)n − 1) / i] × (1 + i), where P is the monthly investment, i is the monthly rate of return and n is the number of months.
Why SIP works
Systematic Investment Plans use rupee-cost averaging — you buy more units when markets fall and fewer when they rise — plus the power of compounding over long periods. Starting early matters more than timing the market.
Frequently asked questions
Is the return guaranteed? No — projections are estimates; actual mutual fund returns vary with the market.
What is a good SIP return assumption? 10–12% p.a. is commonly used for long-term equity SIP illustrations.
Can I pause or step up my SIP? Most funds allow pausing, and many investors increase SIPs yearly as income grows.
